Journalist | Video Producer | Educator
I’m Robert Meeks, a multimedia journalist, award-winning video producer, and educator. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with major news organizations, including the Los Angeles Times, LA Daily News, and the Press-Telegram in Long Beach.
During my nine years at the Los Angeles Times, I played a key role in some of the newsroom’s biggest stories. I was part of the breaking news video coverage of the 2015 San Bernardino shooting, which won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize. I also contributed to the production of the critically acclaimed podcast Dirty John.
A native Angeleno, I began my journalism career as a reporter at the Orange County Register, covering local beats in Anaheim Hills and Villa Park. I’ve also written for The Compton Bulletin and The Inglewood Tribune, honing my skills as a storyteller.
Beyond reporting, I have a strong passion for video production, earning three Los Angeles-area Emmy nominations and multiple industry awards. My expertise in multimedia storytelling has allowed me to combine journalism, video, and digital media to engage audiences in meaningful ways.
I earned my BA in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, and currently, I serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California (USC), where I help train the next generation of journalists. Despite my busy career, I always make time for Sunday dinners with my family in Los Angeles.
